Hey, I’m Deanna!

I’m an Itinerant Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.

I work with all ages—from early intervention to high school. When I started teaching, I began to make my own resources to fill the unique needs of my students. It all started with a little booklet to teach a kindergartner about her FM system and it turned out that I LOVED making things! I love being able to use my creative energy to better serve my students and connect with other professionals in Deaf Education.

My goal is to create resources to fit our unique role.

I love creating self-advocacy resources, listening activities, and language games that are targeted towards itinerant teachers. We have unique needs: a big age range, limited space, and not a lot of prep time. My goal is to create resources that are specific to our students AND specific to our needs as itinerant teachers.

In May 2022, I became a certified Listening and Spoken Language Specialist in Auditory Verbal Education. I learned so much from this process! My goals are to learn, inspire, and connect with other TODs and SLPs as I continue to grow as a professional.

When I’m not teaching, you can probably find me in my car, eating snacks, or watching Netflix shows.
